1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the website remember your preferences and provide a better user experience.

2. How We Use Cookies

RealInterview AI uses cookies for the following purposes:

  • Essential Cookies: Required for the website to function properly. These include authentication tokens and session management.
  • Preference Cookies: Remember your settings and preferences, such as language and theme choices.
  • Analytics: a random id we generate and keep in your browser’s local storage — not a cookie at all, ours or anyone else’s. That distinction is deliberate: a cookie is sent automatically with every request your browser makes to us, while this id is never transmitted anywhere except inside the usage events described below. We use it to see which pages and features get used. See Product Analytics in our Privacy Policy for exactly what that does and does not include, and how to turn it off.
  • Performance Cookies: Used to optimize website performance and loading times.

3. Types of Cookies We Use

Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for the operation of our website. They enable core functionality such as security, account authentication, and session management. You cannot opt out of these cookies.

Functional Cookies

These cookies enable enhanced functionality and personalization. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we have added to our pages.

Analytics

We run our own, first-party product-analytics pipeline — not a third-party analytics service — to see which pages and features get used, tied to a random id stored in your browser and, once you are signed in, to your account. It never collects your name, email, IP address, the full web address you were on, or anything you say in an interview, and it is never shared with anyone outside RealInterview AI. See Product Analytics in our Privacy Policy for the complete, itemised list of what is and is not collected.

Before you sign in, a one-time notice on our public pages links here and offers a way to turn this off. Afterwards, the same control lives under Settings → Security → Usage analytics — turning it off stops these events without affecting the records we need to run and bill your account.

4. Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies may be set by third-party services that appear on our pages. We use services from:

  • Firebase: For authentication and real-time database functionality.

We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking provider. The product analytics described above is first-party only.

5. Managing Cookies

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can:

  • View cookies stored on your device
  • Accept or reject cookies
  • Delete cookies from your device
  • Set your browser to notify you when cookies are being set

Please note that disabling essential cookies may affect the functionality of our website and prevent you from using certain features.

7. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
